Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: July 30, 2026
Called to Serve CDC, Inc. is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible digital experience for people of all abilities.
We believe that everyone should be able to access information about our organization, programs, events, community initiatives, and opportunities to support our work.
Our Accessibility Goal
Called to Serve is working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Version 2.2, Level AA, commonly referred to as WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
These guidelines provide recommendations for making digital content more accessible to people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice input, captions, and other assistive technologies.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As our website, programs, content, and technologies evolve, we will continue working to identify and address accessibility barriers.
Measures We Take
Our accessibility efforts may include:
- Using semantic headings and page structure.
- Providing text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Supporting keyboard navigation.
- Maintaining visible keyboard focus indicators.
- Using descriptive links and button labels.
- Providing sufficient color contrast.
- Avoiding unnecessary reliance on color alone.
- Supporting responsive layouts and text resizing.
- Associating form fields with understandable labels and instructions.
- Providing accessible validation and error messages where possible.
- Using captions, transcripts, or descriptions for multimedia when available.
- Reviewing reusable components for accessibility.
- Testing pages with automated accessibility tools.
- Conducting manual keyboard and screen-reader reviews.
- Correcting reported accessibility barriers as part of ongoing website maintenance.
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of commonly used web browsers and assistive technologies.
For the best experience, we recommend using:
- A current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
- A current operating system.
- Updated assistive technology.
- Browser zoom or text-size controls when needed.
Older browsers, unsupported operating systems, customized browser configurations, or outdated assistive technologies may not provide the same level of access.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content or functions may not yet be fully accessible.
Potential limitations may include:
- Older documents or archived content.
- PDF files supplied by third parties.
- Embedded donation, payment, map, video, social media, or event tools.
- Third-party forms and widgets.
- Videos for which complete captions, transcripts, or audio descriptions are not yet available.
- Images or documents provided by outside organizations.
- External websites linked from Called to Serve pages.
Third-party services are controlled by their respective providers. We encourage these providers to offer accessible experiences, but we may not be able to modify their platforms directly.
When possible, we will work to provide an accessible alternative or help users obtain the information through another method.
Donation and Other Third-Party Forms
Some website functions, including donation processing, may be provided through external platforms.
If you experience difficulty using a third-party donation or registration form, contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to help you complete the intended action through an alternative method.
Do not send complete credit card or bank account information by email.
Documents and Alternative Formats
Some downloadable files may not be fully optimized for every assistive technology.
You may request information in another format, including accessible electronic text, large print, or another reasonable format when available.
Please identify the document or page you need and describe the format that would be most useful.
